Proven effective on odors associated with tank cleaning – improving working conditions for employees and living conditions for neighbors.

Prior to cleaning, tanks are vented to the atmosphere in order to reduce the internal gas content to a level below its lower explosion limit (LEL). This permits safe worker access. During venting, odors escape into the atmosphere creating a nuisance to nearby residents, businesses, and employees. Furthermore, tank cleaning results in production downtime that reduces plant profitability.

Ecosorb is effective on most odors associated with tank cleaning, including : naptha, diesel, methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), crude oil, amines, phenols, formaldehyde, ammonia, and sulfur dioxide.

Crude Oil Storage Tanks
Prior to cleaning tanks, they must be vented to lower the explosion limits – a process that releases crude oil odors to the atmosphere. An Ecosorb program can provide reliable control even in 500,000 bbl tanks.

Refinery Storage Tanks
Spent caustic tanks at refineries often contain traces of naphtha, and diesel that can escape during cleaning. In residential areas, this means costly delays waiting for favorable wind directions. Ecosorb odor control allows cleaning at any time.
